Discussion:
Clicks and Drop-outs using MIDI Controller and FLTK Widgets

I am experiencing extreme clicks and drop-outs when using MIDI (Korg
nanoKONTROL 2) to operate FLTK widgets in real-time. It doesn't seem to be
related to the front-end I am using (the latest version of WinXound) because
it also occurs in others (the latest version of CsoundQT, for example), and
I have tried adjusting buffer settings but the issue persists. I think it
must have something to do with the graphic display, because, bizarrely, when
I minimise my customised GUI window - or simply move it off-screen - the
problem goes away. Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Hi Richard,

Thanks for responding. I have the same problem when I execute the .csd from
the Terminal. It's strange that the performance runs smoothly when the
custom GUI, in fact even just the active sliders, are moved off-screen.

Hi Oeyvind,

That could very well be the problem. I am on OS X 10.7.5, which is a couple
of years old now, but an upgrade would mean sacrificing some useful
software. Do you know of any solutions to the threading issue?

Many thanks,

Lee

i think there has never been a solution for this threading issue on osx,
and fltk is since some years out of date. won't you use csoundqt,
cabbage or blue?
